Ryder has been growing his mullet for over three years. He originally started growing it out specifically for this competition, but since then, it has become part of his identity. He gets recognition for having the best mullet in school and complimented on it daily. his mullet has really helped boost his self-confidence, and he is proud of the fact that other kids aspire to have hair like his.
