In 8th grade while talking with friends, I asked if I should grow a mullet for high school. My friends bet me I wouldn't. I was going to a different school than the friends I grew up with so no one at my high school has ever known me without the mullet. It's become my trademark.

I first heard of this contest after I had started growing my hair into the luscious mane it has become. I said I would enter the contest the summer before my senior year and here we are!!
